I’m a recent convert to blush, always having put it to the back of mind due to being so pale and having rosey toned skin. But in the last year I’ve found a real love for it and made it my mission to find my perfect shade. Its safe to say I’ve had many failures, too dark, too light, too orange, too cool toned. Its a hard job, but someone had to do it. I’ve put together a list of my four favourites that I know I can rely on to work with any look and for any occasion.

Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice

I know there’s six colours in this palette and I do promise to keep this list to just four, so hear me out. The second shade in on the bottom row. Worth the £6 price tag on its own (you read that right. six. pounds!). The pigment in all Revolution powder products is insane, you’ll see I’m a big fan if you stick around any longer than 30 seconds. But this is a great starter kit if your not sure what shade to go for, and like me, want to try your hand at a few until you get it right. I have found that the shade I mentioned is the perfect tone for my skin in summer, with a slight tan and more bronze-y glow, whilst also giving that ‘just in from the cold’ flush to the cheeks in winter when I’m at my fairest. The other colours, take them or leave them. I have been known to use some as eyeshadows, but that one on the bottom row second colour in *chefs kiss* perfection.

In an attempt to buy one singular blush that is the same shade as the one in the aforementioned palette, same brand, looks close enough to convince me! I reach for this one so much more often than the palette, ease of use and travelling with. You know, with all the travelling were doing at the moment. What I mean by that though is if I decide to treat myself to doing my makeup in the warmth of the lounge and try to carry everything in one trip down the stairs. Anyway. Its a beautiful hot pink shade, use with caution and a light hand! Completely matt for a more universal appeal, add glow separately if you so desire (I always desire). Did I mention its only £4 for 7.5 grams, I cant ever think that I would finish this powder there’s so much product there.

Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore

If you’ve spent any time at all looking for blusher recommendations on the internet, chances are you’ve heard of the famous Luminoso shade. If not, hey, Luminoso is a very popular shade around these parts. From the swatches I saw online, I didn’t think that would be the most flattering shade for pale skin, so I went for Berry Amore. I was not disappointed! It is the softest nude pink shade with beautiful gold marbling through it. It leaves the skin glowing, looking so incredibly naturally flushed and healthy. The gold reflects don’t show up as big glitter particles, but rather it adds a soft glow to the cheeks that truly looks like a lit from within glow. I don’t tend to use this one on the bridge of my nose like I possibly do with some others due to the gold reflects, but on the cheeks its perfection.

Flower Beauty Flower Pots Powder Blush in Wildrose

This one is the newest addition to my makeup drawer, and I have to admit it is also my favourite one. The hot pink shade is the perfect bitten by the cold flush for this time of year, and despite the fact it looks scary neon in the pan, it wears so softly and beautifully. It blends out to a perfect sheer flush but can be built up on the apples of the cheeks for a more intense colour pay off. Unlike the others mentioned, it isn’t completely matt nor is it shimmery like the Milani one. It’s a beautiful hybrid that lives right in the middle of the two, with the blending power of a matt finish and the benefit of a slight glow but not glittery. I would describe it as a glowy satin finish. I guess Drew Barrymore knows her blush. Who’d have thought?

I have also done a YouTube video swatching all these blushers if you’d like to see them in real life ish! It’s linked HERE if you’d like to check it out.

Are any of these your favourites? I’d love to know what your holy grail blush product is, if there’s any more I need to pick up!

    1. I’m never disappointed with a Revolution powder product (Touch wood! haha!) Thanks for stopping by 🙂 X

  2. This was interesting! I have super fair skin but I’ve never tried any of these. I usually opt for really pale nude peachy shades x

    1. I actually have the Loreal Lifes a Peach blusher but I’m not a huge fan of it on me, the colour just doesn’t seem to suit my complexion as much as these! Glad you found it interesting 🙂 xx
