*NEW* Revlon 5 In 1 Concealer Review

Revlon isn’t a brand I’ve tried a tonne from, in fact I think before this concealer I think I only have one foundation from them but nothing else. Like everything else, it has some impressive claims; ‘Erase, Perfect, Brighten, Hydrate + Refresh Skin. 5 in 1 easy ways to look more awake for 24-hours.‘ Without actually giving me an extra 24 hours in bed, how can a concealer make me look more awake?

First Impression

When I first squeezed some of the product out onto the applicator I noticed the scent, it smells really quite strongly of chemicals and plastic. This worried me initially but it did disappear very quickly upon application and, as someone whose eyes are very sensitive to fragrance in products, I didn’t have a reaction to it in the long run.

The formula felt cooling on the under eyes which I found really strange at first, but once I got used to it I thought it was a nice feeling. It definitely lived up to the refreshing claim, it felt really hydrating and the cooling sensation felt as though it was waking my eyes up, always a bonus!

The initial application looked really smooth and hydrated, it blended out really nicely with no other base products. I also noticed after just a few minutes of having the concealer under my eyes, it looked like it had been set with a powder when I hadn’t yet set it, not to say this is a bad thing as I actually loved the finish of it. The under eyes looked well covered and smooth, and the finish was the most natural I’ve ever tried before, I was so shocked with how nice it looked.

Its not the most intense coverage, I would say its a good medium coverage which is ideal for what I want for an everyday concealer. I need something that will brighten and hide the eye bags a bit, but I don’t wear a tonne of makeup so I don’t need loads of coverage and this concealer gives the ideal amount.

Wear Test

After wearing the concealer for around 10 hours, there was a small amount of creasing on the eye lids and under eyes. Completely normal for me and not as bad as some other concealers I’ve used, even my favourite Collection Stretch Concealer creases more when I wear it for this length of time.

Due to the formula looking ‘set’ just after application I worried it would look dry by the end of the day but it still looked just as smooth and hydrated as it did when first applied which was a nice surprise! The coverage was still there, despite wearing a mask for eight of those ten hours.

Would I Recommend?

I feel like this concealer has a specific wearer in mind, its great for ‘no make up’ days and if your only banging on a little concealer and mascara to run out the door, its perfect. I wouldn’t choose this if you wear foundation and higher coverage everyday as I just don’t think the coverage would cut it. Although the finish is beautiful and long lasting, if I was wearing foundation and a full face I would need something more than this.

This concealer has a firm place in my makeup routine at the moment, and I do reach for it most days for work when I don’t wear other base products, but for anything more than that I would reach for something else.

Have you tried this new concealer from Revlon? What concealer do you use for those ‘no make up’ days?

  7. It sounds like a good concealer and it’s nice the coverage stays all day too! 🙂 I’m currently using an MCo concealer but I end up forgetting to put it on most days, haha! I just throw on sunscreen on my face or maybe BB cream if I want to put a bit of effort in, very basic here!

Hope that you are having a nice week 🙂 It’s a big week here – first week of school for the kids after the summer holidays!

  8. I am going to have to try this soon!
