Dr. PawPaw make one of my all time favourite lip balms, the original balm (linked here) is a staple in my night time skincare routine. The perfect consistency for all year round to keep those lips soft and supple. So when I saw they’d brought out a tinted version I was sold, even more so when I read that it can be used on the cheeks as well! I picked up the colours Peach Pink and Hot Pink as these are shades I would happily wear on both my lips and cheeks.
When I first tried the product on my arm (because I didn’t want to go straight in with a lip balm on my cheeks, funnily enough) I noticed how intensely pigmented it was. Dodged a bullet there. The texture is exactly the same as the original balm, very thick and nourishing, with of course the added benefit of the colour.
As I tapped my fingers over the swatches on my arm the colour quickly sheered out, leaving a lovely wash of colour with a light sheen from the balm ingredients. The product didn’t feel overly sticky, more as though I had a thick moisturiser on rather than a lip balm. It did stop being so glossy and sticky after a minute or two which was a concern of mine. Hair sticking in my lip gloss is one thing, but my blusher is a step too far.
So I moved on to try it on my face, I’ve experimented with using it a few different ways but my favourite way is definitely using it on a no make up – make up day. Most days for work I just apply concealer under my eyes and bronzer round the perimeter of my face. My mask covers most of my face any way so I’m not too fussed about looking 100% flawless. But the addition of this balm on my cheeks gives my skin a lovely healthy glow and slight colour that just looks so fresh, and wears really well all day.
I get a tiny amount on my fingers and pat it in over my cheeks to blend, both colours are beautiful and I would recommend either if you are of my colouring also. I love wearing the same colour on my cheeks and lips, not that anyone would know under my mask though! Like I said above, the balm wears really nicely all day. I have worn both colours for 10 hour days at work and they haven’t worn off, which is a miracle for blush! It doesn’t feel sticky at all on the face when its given a few minutes to set down a little.
Would I recommend?
Absolutely, even if just for a lip balm, they’re really lovely! There’s four colours to choose from, the red is next on my list then there’s also a brown tone that I don’t think I would get a lot of use out of, but I see for other skin tones it would be ideal! I use these most days, and I always have one in my handbag for on the go application.
Have you ever tied a multiuse product like this, I’d love to hear if there’s any other products like this that I need to try!
