Ice Queen – Mint Blue Christmas Glam Make Up Look

The cold never bothered me anyway…

When it comes to Christmas decorations and colours, I’m much more of a modern pastel blue gal rather than traditional red and green. Don’t get me wrong, a love a red lip and a tartan outfit, but I love the simplicity of silvers and blues and pastel tones too.

This Huda palette was an obvious choice for this look, I’ve had it since last Christmas but never had the confidence to wear the colours all together. I did have to add a slightly darker blue to the outer corner which I used my Monster Mattes palette from Revolution, the colours blended perfectly together to create a pastel base with a bit of depth.

Would it even be me if I didn’t use a Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from ELF, and this one called Mermaid Shimmy was perfect for the occasion. I built this up on the inner lid and blended right out up to the inner part of the eyebrow for ultimate glitter sparkle. I really cant rave highly enough about these liquid glitter eyeshadows, I don’t think I could get through the festive period without them! A pop of a blinding icy highlight in the very inner corner brightens everything up to balance the dark eyeliner.

This is my go to long lasting flawless base, and I can do a whole post on the products I use for this, but the basics are light layers of the L’Oreal Glow Cherie Natural Glow Enhancer under Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation. The foundation can be layered to build up the coverage which I find I need across my cheeks but not all over, and the Collection Stretch Concealer just under the eyes. Cream and powder contour and blush to ensure it lasts all day and a blinding out of this world highlight courtesy of Maybelline.

Depending on the occasion, I may add lashes to this look. If it was for a special party or evening do I would certainly add some long fluttery lashes, but since this day I just did the food shop I decided against them for these pictures.

This lipstick just finished off the look perfectly, I was going to go with Velvet Teddy but opted for Love You Back instead as its a touch lighter and also a touch more cool toned, which I thought went with the eyes more. I also spritzed all over with the ELF Stay All Night setting spray, which is the most incredible fine micro mist and locks everything in place like superglue!

Would you go for a more modern silver blue makeup look for Christmas? Let me know what you love for the festivities!
