*NEW* NYX Concealer Serum Review – Testing Viral New Makeup!

NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me Concealer Serum – £11 – 13 shades available

If you saw any makeup favourites from 2021 from American creators, chances are you saw this concealer mentioned. Of course, being in the UK means we get things months after our US counterparts so when I saw this launched in Boots I had to get my hands on it! It has now also launched into Superdrug, and is available in store an online from both retailers. The retail price is £11, but as is so often the case, I picked this up when it was on a 3 for 2 offer so the price was actually less.

As far as drug store brands go, NYX is up there in price yes, but the quality of everything I’ve tried from them has more than justified the slightly higher price. So lets get into the concealer.

First Impression

I first used this concealer on a basic work day, so minimal makeup no foundation just concealer, brows and mascara. This meant the coverage had to shine, and the texture had to work on bare skin without any other products. I used one full pump on the back of my hand and blended into the eye sockets and down onto the cheeks using a Real Techniques Contour Brush (the best brush for getting into the inner corner of the eye whilst also seamlessly blending everything out in one step).

The texture just felt hydrating like an eye cream, which I love, but the coverage was also fantastic! I couldn’t believe how little product I needed to cover the darkness in the inner corner of my eyes whilst also completely blending out to nothing the further out I took the brush. One whole pump was WAY too much product for just this area, even when I added a second layer there was still some left on my hand.

I ended up adding the rest of the product from the back of my hand onto my forehead and cheeks, which I don’t normally do but it would have been a waste to not use what I had already dispensed.

Over the course of the day the concealer still looked fresh, minimal creasing around my eyes and it didn’t make my sensitive eyes feel dry or dehydrated as some concealers do. The hydrating nature of the concealer was so apparent through the day, as everything looked just as good by the end of the day as it did when first applied.

Would I Recommend?

The American content creators weren’t wrong, it really is a fantastic concealer! I would absolutely recommend, especially if you have dry skin (like me!) or if you like to wear just concealer with no foundation on a daily basis. This is how I have worn it most often since my first application, but it does also wear well under other products too.

If you have oilier skin, and need a more mattifying concealer I don’t think this would be your favourite. Also if you need a concealer for spots or breakouts, the hydrating finish wouldn’t be what I would choose, but for the eyes it works incredibly well.

Have you tried this viral concealer in a serum? Let me know what you thought of it in the comments! Are there any other viral makeup products you’ve tried recently that you think I should pick up?
