The Inkey List Review – One Brand Skincare Routine

The Inkey List exploded onto the skincare scene in 2018 and have dominated since with high quality, simple ingredient based products that genuinely deliver on their claims. I used their skincare routine builder to create my routine, as well as adding in a few of my old favourites. Skincare has become such a big deal in the last few years, and The Inkey List has concreated its place in the market with so many people.

Oat Cleansing Balm – £9.99

The texture of this really surprised me, I was expecting a cream coloured thick balm similar to the Liz Earle Cleanse And Polish but this is almost clear and is more like a silicone primer in texture and appearance. Like many of The Inkey List products, there’s no added fragrance so the scent is virtually no existent. It feels like its not cleaning your skin at all as you emulsify it over your face with a bit of water. I chose to use a muslin cloth to remove it once I felt I’d got everywhere and removed everything, I was so shocked to see every scrap of makeup was gone. I’d really put it through its paces with a full coverage foundation and waterproof mascara, but everything was gone with the first cleanse. When I followed up with my toner on a cotton pad it was completely clear, and my skin felt incredible.

I usually prefer a cleansing cream, but this worked so well and left my skin feeling so beautifully soft and clean this has cemented its place on my skincare shelf.

Hyaluronic Acid – £5.99

As far as hyaluronic acid serums go, and I’ve tried many, this one is probably my favourite. It sinks in quickly and leaves the skin feeling plump and hydrated without a sticky residue that some can leave on the skin. Its suitable for morning and evening use, and I do use it for both so can confirm it feels lovely under make up. Hyaluronic acid is such a staple in skincare for all skin types, but for dry skin its an absolute essential.

Polyglutamic Acid – £12.99

To create a physical barrier over the top of other skincare products and the outside world, this is a dry skin gals dream. Polyglutamic acid locks in all the benefits of your serums and moisturisers so your skin can fully absorb all those steps without anything being lost to the atmosphere. I use this as my last step in the evening after using my night cream, and in the morning my skin is the softest it ever feels. I don’t over do it with this as I do worry its so hydrating it make me oily, I would say at this time of year I use it once or twice a week as a treatment rather than every night.

This can also be mixed into your foundation to add more skincare benefits through the day, I haven’t tried this (yet) but I’d love to hear if you have and what your experiences were!

Ceramide Night Treatment – £14.99

To deeply hydrate and plump, this treatment works fantastically on days where I don’t use the polyglutamic acid. It feels like a thick gel moisturiser and skins in slowly, and it replaces your moisturiser as the last step. I find if I use this when my skin is feeling super sensitive I wake up with no redness or sensitivity and the skin feels smother and calmer as well as super hydrated and glowy.

Peptide Moisturiser – £14.99

Did I originally want this because of the funky pump bottle, maybe. Turns out its actually a fantastic moisturiser too! I use this morning and night at the moment, it sinks in to the skin and leaves it feeling instantly refreshed and layers with no problems under makeup. There isn’t any SPF so I generally add in the SPF drops from Simple during the day. For a multi use moisturiser its really lovely, and takes the place of two moisturisers out my skincare shelf which is a win.

Have you tried any products from The Inkey List before, what would you recommend or what would you like to try out from this haul? Let me know!
